I have been in the sales industry for last 3 years now. And I have experienced there are many obstacles but main is when it comes to break the ice in the initial phase. I wanted to know what is yours?

IMO the key is really finding any ways to make it a warmer call.  This is why direct sends, when done right, can be incredible.  Best warm intro you'll ever get from a cold call and find something that will stay on their desk.  One that works great is a piggy bank for loose change.

I'm not a big fan of 'following up with an email' as the first touch...

For me it is setting time to sit and make the calls. I love email, and am pretty active on LinkedIn, but find it tough to get motivated to block out time and call people. I know it is making an impression and that leaving a voicemail can be key, but being new to sales it is pretty nerve wracking even though I rarely get an answer.
