[Wellness Wednesday] 7-Minute Meditation: Finding Calm Amidst the Chaos
This weekend, I got a notification from The New York Times that said:
“It’s OK: You can stop trying to be productive. A great thing to do right now, if you are able to, is stay inside and do nothing.”
This was a much needed reminder for myself, and I’m sure for many others out there. When the quarantine first began, I was still trying to go about my normal day. Keep my normal routine, maintain my same (busy) schedule, and pretend that everything is okay. I tried to become more productive, now with “more” time on my hands, and set ambitious goals for myself by the end of quarantine. However this all took a toll on me.
The truth is feeling a complexity of emotions and stress right now is perfectly fine. Doing absolutely nothing and just resting is perfectly fine. We’re in a weird time right now -- do whatever feels right for your body in this moment. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Take care of your health, both physically and mentally -- it is the most important as we face this global health crisis.
As a yoga instructor, I want to share the tools that I have to spread physical and mental wellbeing to every one in my community. Starting today, and every Wednesday going forward, I will be sharing guided meditations, breathwork, workouts, mantras or other resources that can help keep us sane during this time. This is completely free, so please feel free to share it with anyone else you think that will benefit. And I encourage you to participate and comment what kind of content you want to see more of! If you are looking for other free resources on meditations or workouts, check out this post here or just ask, I’m happy to share!
We’re all going to get through this together 🙏
