Is it this simple for more women sales practitioners on podcasts?

From a conversation on LinkedIn.....

Bravado member Kasey Jones posted about how guys reach out to be guests on podcasts and that women are hard to find, and when invited, turn down the opportunity half of the time.

One idea shared was that we recommend another woman - friend, colleague, peer - for 5 different podcasts and that peer / colleague would do the same for you - thereby getting more women onto podcasts.

I think that finding great women to speak is just the first issue - am I wrong? Would love to hear your thoughts - female or male - and Kasey's original post is here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/abetterjones_i-recently-had-lunch-with-the-host-of-a-pretty-activity-6627693845289201664-uBRN

I love the idea of when we do podcasts recommending others. Will put that in play now.

I've done this successfully with a few people. We write up a 4-5 line introduction for each other that we use to make the guest suggestion - and obviously you can copy and paste over and over. I love podcasts. I've probably averaged at least 25+ a year for the last 7 years. My goal is to influence the podcast host more than anything. It's like havi... See more

Scott Barker from SalesHacker started this thread mentioned on LinkedIn. He felt like he didn't know women in sales to invite, which I still find odd. But, on the positive side, he did ask for help. Anywho... I made suggestions. I also commented that I have no trouble finding women to invite and some never respond. That's fine. Could be timing. May... See more

My reply is tardy but really love your comments here, Barb. We can affect some of this, and women themselves also need to step up as they can / as they want. Growing your visibility is not for everyone - I admire those who make a great living as a sales leader or individual contributor and also have a family, or outside interests and feel they have... I love the idea of bringing more diversity in the 'voice of sales' by recommending more women guests for podcasts.

I was recently  on the Startup Hypeman and Make it Happen Mondays (coming out soon) podcasts and I felt it was such a great way to learn and share.
I would love to continue these conversations on other channels too, would love to get r...
