Got any unique prospecting examples that worked?

Hey all! Does anyone have good unique or 'out of the box' prospecting examples that worked (booked meeting, closed deal, or whatever your success criteria is)?


I'm compiling a bunch into a guide for newer reps to show that there's more to the job than simply calling & emailing people trying to book meetings. Adding some creativity to your outreach can really separate your messaging from the sea of prospecting that prospects wade through on a daily basis.

In college when I sold websites to small businesses this tactic worked 2 out of 3 times. First I would qualify the business didn't have an e-commerce presence or had a crappy one, went to their store - browsed long enough to the point the person engaged - usually it was the owner. That's GENIUS. Love the initiative. Really selling a future state. COVID kind of throws a wrench into that...haha. But when things normalize I love the idea!

I was trying to get into an account and had messaged a few mid-level BTL folks to get some initial discovery going. I spoke to a few and found out that the CTO owned the budget & project scope & would be the Economic buyer for me.ย
