How Do I Have a Conversation in Everyday Life?
How do you have a good sales conversation with a prospect?
People that are asking this should start with; “how do I have a conversation in everyday life?”
There are many different kinds of conversation.
There’s the checkout line at the grocery store.
“Did you find everything okay?”
There’s the elevator conversation with the drunk guy.
“Wouldn’t it be funny if I pressed all the buttons and we had to stop at every floor?” *spills drink*
There’s the conversation with the receptionist at your medical appointment.
“Great, just fill out this form and we will call your name shortly.”
There’s the conversation around the dinner table.
“So, how was your day?”
All of these have different elements but do you know what is the most common thing about them?
They’re all normal and unavoidable conversations and they all lead to outcomes.
Now think about a sales call...maybe it’s “normal” to some capacity because they happen so frequently for the buyer, but they’re definitely avoidable.
And nobody wants to have them, at all.
Trying to convince yourself otherwise is just a blatant lie.
People crave experiences in life.
People take comfort in familiarity.
People expect relevance.
And they love a good “Pre-Burnt Letter.”
