How do we stay focused while WFH?

Specifically FOCUS is going to be one the most essential ways for companies to remain successful and whether the storm that we are all facing right now.

It's also been incredibly challenging for me since I'm not used to working remote.

A few things that have helped me to maintain my focus:

  • Running
  • Yoga
  • Writing, writing, more writing

Looking for more ideas.. especially from any of you that have worked remote for a while.

What have y'all been doing to maintain focus while working from home?

Have been WFH for my whole career - I really recommend a separate room for "work" and closing all non-essential tabs. Seems basic, but has truly been the key to getting things done.

One thing I have noticed is that clocking out is absolutely necessary. Try your best to not open work-related emails or you might find that you're burning yourself out b...

Makes sense, especially since there's less opportunity to leave the house on weekends... it's been hard to clock out on Sat/Sun even. There definitely needs to be some sort of balance. Thank you for the input!

really good advice. similarly thinking about the backdrop for all these zoom meetings, it's nice to have a dedicated area to put you in the right headspace.

For me, constantly not replying to emails and pings on chat has saved tons of my time. I tell my team that I will reply to all conversations within 3 hours. If it is urgent, then can call me. Else you are going to be distracted by every ping and lose focus.

I run into this issue a lot. I had to do some CSMing in our early days, and the constant pings out of nowhere made it really challenging to stay productive. Sticky notes have helped a lot with this
