How is to work at Dell

Dell is a great place to start but upward mobility is very difficult especially in the larger segments GCCS (Ent), Federal, and OEM. Pay is okay for hardware companies but not good overall. I have a $100m quota and after hitting 137% only made $84k.

Stable company, great culture, decent pay. Every customer uses Dell in some regard, so no trouble booking meetings or digging for opportunities

Direct Management is willing to jump in and help. Working to ensure that reps are compensated competitively.

Smart organization with a lot of smart people and a strong market position.

Compensation is lacking compared to big tech, management and senior SEs are quitting for higher-paying companies, no stock bonus, laptops my team got were not top of the line laptops that you would see at nice tech companies like MacBooks (Dell couldn't give us the XPS laptops which are pretty nice devices), still seems a bit old school culture-wise, no cool work swag
About the culture

Can see some bureaucracy and micromanagement, are not matching the culture and energy at other big tech companies, business casual in office (no flexibility), WFH is something almost frowned upon with some people, depending on the team it could be pretty chill, not many woman in leadership
