WR has opened my eyes as to what is normal and what is not normal/ok treatment from management.

1) S/BDRs love to complain
2) There are lots of lazy sales amateurs out here, not a ton of professionals.
3) 1% of the community drives 99% of the engagement.

I’ve learned some really helpful tips on job search and interviewing which actually helped me land my current job.

I have also learned I need to take everything I hear in here with a grain of salt because there is a ton of unqualified advice being offered.

Finally, SDRs seem much more miserable now than they did when I first started in sales. Idk if people are too sensitive, lazy, or companies are genuinely fucking people over, but damn.

I’ve also used the older posts for interviewing advice and found it extremely helpful.

Not sure if you're asking @BigMeech or myself this one (he probably has better advice TBH) - but I looked within my network and brainstormed the best possible places for me to go. Listed the positives and negatives of each, and got the names of a few who were top of the food chain in most of them.

I was not given a referral to the firm I landed at (though it was #1 on my list), but I straight up cold called someone who vaguely knew who I was and pitched some business referrals to them. I let them ask if I was happy at my firm and would consider leaving. Obviously I replied HELL YES and here I sit today.......

Also - it helped that I built up my network of well respected people in my industry which I could name drop as references.

WR has reinforced the ideology of loyalty to self above loyalty to any organization which has been refreshing to hear. I've appreciated the communities encouragement to others who are being underpaid to search for greener pastures at other organizations that recognize their value.

I am definitely underpaid.

Or from hearing the stories of my fellow savages, how much of a difference having a collaborative and helpful structure vs. bullshit/freeforall cultures can be vastly different in our sales world.

And mentality! Going for a freeforall to structure gives you peace of mind and you dont have to look over your shoulder every 10 seconds.

I'll go first. The number 1 thing I have learned is how valuable a community actually is. Just knowing that all you have or are going through the same BS that I have been through at some point in time. Didn't realize that this type of environment would actually add a lot to my life.

1. A delightful myriad of torture methods and ways to hide bodies without tipping off the feds or HR, thanks to @paddy

2. That I can drink way more Kahlua in one sitting than I ever thought I could...only con being that I've woke up with some weird bruises and a few people's usernames cattle branded on my butt the morning after my experiments with the 'lua. But mama never raised no bitch and it's all in the game so I'm cool with it.

The older the post, the more helpful it tends to be (except for some really insightful shit from @BigMeech @WCK @funcoupons @CuriousFox @poweredbycaffeine and others I’m forgetting sorry - trying to murder the ADD demons today).

That everyone seems to hate Gong? And Oracle… but I’m scared to ask why… (no but like why? For real guys)

that @paddy likes Kahlua and locking interns into some closet (sounds fun yet possibly illegal) (lol)

that  @funcoupons has funny posts that make me lol in real life (hard to do in this digital age)

And @sahil has some sound Deepak chopra advice for life (sales). (Legit best posts/content for me at this stage in my career)

Best part of war room is feeling part of the secret life of sales peeps. A club that no one grew up aspiring to be in? Yet all landed in and scoff at other people who say they have stress ( please I have at least 2 heart attacks call in a day and a few lung transplants a week - aka data management implementations.. lmao)

That kahlua and bailies go well in cereal. Along with prospecting tools ive never heard of, what I am missing out on, and confidence back in myself. Keep up the sales guru advice all, I and many others are grateful.

All of them.. lol. I use salesforce right now and google. So I searched all The recommendations I could find and played with them so i could figure out how to gain org info quickly, log activity and set follow up/cadence items, input notes and the info gained from champions or whoever answers questions, all by using free tools that were recommended on here. Apollo, lusha, hunter.io, miEdge, excel spreadsheets, crayons, tears and hopes and dreams.

as someone new to closing, it’s nice to hear success stories and also fail stories from sales vets. I also like to ask really specific questions about my process that relate to deals I’m currently working to get another perspective, since I really only get feedback from my sales manager and we have really different styles.
