AE (Account Executive)

2 months being laid off. SEEKING HELP!

Hi there, I posted in here when I first got laid off, but now I am 2 months in and starting to feel extremely burnt out from applying, being ghosted, and only going one round in the interview process. I'm still seeing a new company wide layoff every other day it seems, but need some direction or referrals if anyone has any (Side note, I am currently using repvue, linkedin premium, and other avenues exclusively). Thanks.

Its tough being out of work, especially when it starts rolling into months, instead of weeks. Its easy to become disparaged about it.

Job hunting is basically like sales - its a numbers games. The more calls you make, the more resumes you send out, the more networking you do - the better off you'll be.

You will land where you are supposed to be. It may take time and some sacrifice, but you will get there.

Just as orgs are hyper-targeting candidates for experience in their vertical. You should be doing the same. Find roles where you can confidently prove value. This isn't a time to be hunting for the hottest job with the best perks. It's time to communicate your skill set to the companies they'd most benefit... then... get to work. Tough right now. Sorry.

I just filled 2 open AE roles this week (sent offers and verbal acceptance). Wish I could have helped. I have head hunters looking for VP+ level people that hit me up every week. It seems that the quality at the top is not great.
