UPDATE --- I GOT THROUGH TO THE THIRD ROUND!!!!ย 

And then....... as soon as I got off the phone, I had another interview invite for a company I REALLYYYY want to work for in the climate/sustainability space.,,, but this is an SDR role, so now I need to have that one and decide... if I get both, which one to go for.. AE in a job that I know I'll leave eventually to get into the climate/sustainability space, or an entry level role in a company in that space as an SDR ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–

Hey!ย 

I had typed out a whole long post but either my phone froze or this app is not working I'm now pissed off.ย 

anyway... I have a second stage interview, it's at a great company with a great product and I would have a team of SDR's to book leads for me selling a recruitment platform for a subscription - specifically for tech people (ops,devs,techys etc)ย 

I have been suggested by my would be manager (we got on really well) to prepare to ask loads of questions, and take a deep dive into my past achievements, the role, and what they do exactlyโ€ฆ he also suggest that I read anything they have as itโ€™s all relevant โ€ฆ. But thereโ€™s tons of it so just looking for some super helpful punchy help from you legends.ย 

Iโ€™ve got quite a long list of stuff already drawn up prepared but need to do better, and you lot always help me do better so come on, help me land this fucking job so I can hurry up and change my miserable fucking existence ๐ŸŽญ

Did you already use the search bar? Tons of great content surrounding interview questions.ย 

Here are some from @TennisandSalesย that I jotted down earlier:

1.Product - why is it important, why is it different than the competitors, why would someone buy it over the competitors (i have learned that why a product is different does not mean prospect will BUY it because of those differences)
2. Customer - who is it, how would they use it, how would their life be better because of the product.ย ย 
3. Profile they want for a candidate - I would have them explain the type of person they want, and then you know if its even close to something you agree with.ย 
Also, if you can find the answer to these questions by doing research online, do it. And show that to them in the interview (showing them you've already done your research on their space, their unique value prop, how they differ from competitors....shit goes a LONG way.)

Congratulations sexy - review the questions in my posts. they show interest/professionallism/head on ur shoulders. you'll likely only have time for 3-5 so pick the best ones. Review in my posts how I talk about my past achievements: challenges - strategy - results (problem - smarts - success) and pick correlating themes. Cross coordinate it with the job posting and culture, IE. if they want grit, give examples of grit. if they want closing, give anecdotal examples of you closing whatever, can be business or personal. Review their Li content, utube videos, try to be a buyer, request a demo, talk to another SDR and AE. skim their articles. get an intuitive sense of their sales process, value add, and market. You wont be expected to be an expert but being able to show that you have a knack for quick learning/understanding/ and know how into how a company works will get you far - good luck

Congrats on the 2nd interview.ย  Truly.

There are TONS of interview resources out there - specifically for AE's too.ย  I would use Google and the resources available on this site too.

Is this an in person interview or video?ย  If video, you can have most of your resources at your finger tips rather than having to memorize them.ย  For an in person, you can write some out in a notebook, but its good to have 4-5 memorized.ย  Ideally they care about your questioning skills, not the questions themselves.ย  So be ready to ask clarifying questions after the primary quesitons.

idk if other ppl have said this but what I have always looked to be able to do or a second interview:ย 

be able to explain what the product is and what it does. (in your OWN words not off of their website)ย 
If there is a peice you dont understand think of questions to ask.ย 

Also, look into who their competitors are.ย 


so if in the conversation you are able to say something like:
"so i know your software makes it easier for HR managers to onboard new hires, but how does it handle new hires in different states (im just making this shit up)?" the manager will know that you understand what they do and will be happy to help you understand.ย 

if you know the competitors you can askย 
"so from my research it looks like you may be competing against company X, y, and Z. am I right? Which one do you come up against the most, why do groups choose you? Why would groups choose them over you?"ย 

they will appreciate your research and desire to know.ย 
(also depending on their answer it can be an indicator of if they have their shit together. remember you are still vetting them as well!)ย

One of the key things that I miss from a lot of interviews is qualifying the call and time. โ€œWe have 22min left of the call (if it is 30min and the person has probably introduced themselves and everyone managed to get unmuted), what do you want to check off your list today in order for me to get to the next round?โ€ And then in the end โ€œyou said you were looking for X in this call, did I answer that for you?โ€. Followed by closing the call/meeting. Nothing worse than having a candidate you like not closing the call for a sales gig. โ€œWhat is the next steps?โ€
