3 weeks left in my "temporary layoff" and a big thanks to y'all!

I want to say a big thanks to the community here, y'all rallied around me when I was going through some tough stuff at my last company that ultimately ended with me being laid off. Everyone was a big support and it was a big help.


For an update, I was laid off on March 10th. In Canada, anything longer than 13 weeks of "temporary layoff" is considered termination. So, as long as they don't call me back in the next 3 weeks, I'll get a nice little severance package :) I'm still friends with a couple of the people there and I've been told things have just kept going downhill after I left, so it's looking good that they won't have the money to attempt to hire me back!

Job separation is always tough, but it becomes easier when you walk away with some money in your pocket.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I already have another job 😛 I was actually planning on quitting my previous company, I had something lined up but it’s commission only, so I was wanting to do it as a side hustle until I started to get a little traction

Haha, no it’s all a blessing from the lay-off forward! The part before where my pregnant wife was getting sexually harassed by the COO and then after he was fired I still had to work for his sister who is the VP… that part sucked
