My old boss would always give one of her preferred accounts a discount at the end of most quarters, if not even months. I watched intently and she proved Pavlov's conditioning theory as the client would get a bunch of quotes throughout the month and let them pile up. Wait for the discount, then order all at once haha...

10) Never give a discount when you can give a free period at full price framed as a discount in its place

This is very insighful; the current market changes are mandatory to evaluate SaaS

Is anyone else getting a bit annoyed with all this content written specifically for “Saas” sales. The professes and strategies to sell are applicable whether you sell software or cleaning services. Reminds me of the days when pharma reps were thought to the the pinnacle. Selling SaaS is just selling. Master the fundamentals and you’ll have a long and prosperous career

I teach (as a coach) that price-as-a-closer is a loser. You need at least three aces collected and saved during the sales process to have in your bag at the end of the sale. Closing starts after the first call. If you are selling on price, you are in a commodity sale. If you are selling on value to the buyer, you are in a Value Sale. Value selling is a learned skill and you get better with every sale you do. After a while, you have models and templates that will shorten your cycle considerably.
