ABK

Everyday is a day to get better, so I asked how I could do better so I can move closer to what I want.

Other than selling more I was told to "Always be kind" by a VP which made me feel a bit confused as it was not really a SMART goal.

talked to a few other guys in my office, their feedback is that promotions and other benefits that happen at work usually go to top performers and there is no clear path to promotion unless the manager puts in a request for LDP (Leadership developement program)

Do you know what you want?

I still want to leave the country haha, but I think this is in line to what I am trying to achieve.

Spent the first couple of year grinding to be a decent rep, now trying to figure out what the org can do for me.

If you have been following along, you are seeing I am not leaving any stone unturned! Exploring any option I can, with a few ideas from this app.

I don't think he does...

Vet - you need to take some time and introspect, and chill with the posting.

I'm curious as to how your downvoting comes into play with this 'ABK' thing.
I haven't downvoted a single comment of yours, and yes, I do engage with posts. That's what this place is for. I've also been here since basically the beginning.

But look at how many posts you've actually done within a week or so....

I'm also not the only person expressing concern for you, and that's what I'm doing. Poking a little fun here and there, but you do seem like you're in a crisis.

You can have your opinion, but still be wrong.

Have you considered this is just an app I just like to engage on?

I think I saw a post before where you thought you were getting down voted, seems like a recurring problem for you.

You seem like the person that likes to pass your opinion around like fact, if your end goal is to bully a stranger online then I wont succumb to it.

I get the app is a big deal for you, but your poking fun doesnt seem to be very nice. Honestly makes me not want to recommend this platform to others.

Youโ€™re still so new hereโ€ฆ if you actually read the downvoting posts, that MANY have talked about, youโ€™d realize that some weak minded individuals are targeting those that have been here the longest and downvoting dozens of comments at once.

This platform has always had people calling others out when warranted. I never stated anything as fact other than it seems like youโ€™re in some kind of crisis - existential or otherwise.

Consistent posting, not commenting, is often viewed as commission farming and has, in the past, resulted in people being banned because commission equates to real money when you redeem it. Like when I got my Traeger or Yeti cooler.

Most around here strive to actually contribute to/stoke solid discourse, add value, and/or be humorous. Bravado has always had shitposting, because most successful salespeople can be pretty funny and also take it. You might have noticed that thereโ€™s a shitpost tag when youโ€™re posting something new. Thereโ€™s a reason for that.

Iโ€™ve been recognized on the leaderboard multiple times for quality, so maybe realize that while what I say isnโ€™t gospel, it is valid. Especially when itโ€™s backed up by multiple people commenting similar things on one or more of your multitude of posts.

Iโ€™ll also add, again, that I havenโ€™t even downvoted you in any of this. So Iโ€™m not sure why you have your panties in a bunch about this ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

@vet, don't come after Jefe. You will invite the wrath of the OG WR and its just not worth it. Others have tried and failed before.

Jefe's point though regarding posting non stop and not engaging on anyones post is spot on. Your activity here sends a very loud message of commission farming. For context, you have created 15 posts since Jefe last did one in April. While nothing wrong with that, its all you are doing as far as we can see on here. In addition to that, dont take this the wrong way but a number of the posts are fairly low value in terms of contribution to the WR. Some are fun, like your what do you all drink one, which incidentally you got a lot of great replies too.

No-one is attacking you. Just those of us who have been around since the new WR was created 3 years ago, do not take kindly to commission farmers. Any activity that looks like farming is going get called out and rightly so since as Jefe says, commission on here converts to real cash at the end of the day and those inappropriately farming it just spoils it for the rest of us.

So just a tip, cut back on posting so much, engage more with the WR in general as well as supporting other peoples posts and provide some real value. You will earn commission from doing so and comments with value will be upvoted. Until then, i will continue to make subtle references to cultivation on your posts.

I get that. Really just feels like time in the seat with good performance is the metric.

Been trying to find a way to figure it out, feel like I am getting closer.

I say to get promoted get your nose brown (with shit) from kissing managements ass. Most people get promoted after going out and getting drunk and partying with the SVP or c level a few times. Iโ€™ve seen more people promoted because of who they are friends with vs their performances.

I have not had the same experience but hear of it.

Really the goal of the promotion is to get to remote. As it seems many people in my org that are remote are usually of higher title than mine.

That because the smart ones take pics and use that shit when itโ€™s time. Upper leadership can be like a college fraternity party at times. Not all but some.

Tried to up vote this but the app seems a bit buggy.

Thought it was funny, just I dont see that many opportunities to join the frat. People do seem like to golf at my company, maybe I should try to invite myself or make a comment about wanting to go.

Ways to get promoted:

1. Build a brand inside and outside the company, making you valuable to the org.
2. Work really hard and let your number speak for itself.
3. Brown nosing.
4. Be good at everything, pick up additional responsibilities and show what youโ€™re capable off.
5. Build great relationships in the org.

Being kind will make you a better person; Not necessarily promoted.

I have 2 of the 5.

I work in a office that is not HQ. When I run the numbers there were 3 promos out of 15 reps in my office. The key factor was deal sizing.

for most sales reps the BEST way to get the attention of leaders and to get them to help you get what you want it to be a top performer. Its not the best, and not fool proof but its just how it goes for so may companies.

I agree with this and see a bit of it in my org.

I am top of my rank by peers, but not overall. I would say I am mid pack for the entire company.

But we have 300 reps.
