A social safety net is a good thing. It’s fed me, it’s saved me, it’s needed. A government that has so much going on that it can’t even catch it’s own corruption so it needs to continue to tax is bad.

Follow up to this..looking at my taxes over the past few years if I didn't have to pay in to the bullshit, I could easily hire an assistant with my "savings" and pay well above minimum wage for 40 hours a week. I would be creating a job in my local community and doing more than what my taxes do currently.
Your taxes don’t do fuck all. They pay a bunch of political scum to do less than nothing, and if you make enough money, likely that less than nothing doesn’t even benefit you.

Why not just ask the companies who have profits in the millions and billions to pay back their subsidies and tax breaks...that should fund a substantial social safety net.

I don't necessarily want to abolish it, I just believe I should be able to decide exactly where my tax money goes - right down to the people/non-profits/project. I just hate that 99% of our tax money goes to into absolute bullshit nothingness.
Yeah, this makes me sad. In Belgium I’m taxed over 50% income tax and 21% sales tax. Oh yeah by the way, commission is even taxed higher
