Adding your picture in email signature?

Whats good warriors

Thoughts on adding a picture of yourself in email signature? I have never done that and tbh think it comes across to me as cringe, but I see VPs of sales adding a pic, mostly their profile pic on Linkedin - and some them and get a lot of responses... does it make a differences in your response rates/results??

I agree with this message. Just do a video call.

I think VPs get responses because they are VPs, not because of the picture

I do not think a picture of you will make someone go “you know, i wasn’t going to take this call but now i will”

So do it if you want haha

You can. Nothing inherently wrong with it. It adds a level of being more personable that most don’t do. I see it in some of spam emails I get.

Personally if someone wants to know what I look like they can hit up my LI profile or do a video call with me.

Also my company is constantly having me add extra banners to my email signature regarding upcoming conferences so adding a pic would be just too much.

As much as I want this to work, I just didn't for me. Adding a photo, sending LinkedIn video intros, all that stuff.

What I`ve come to learn during my 13+ yrs in sales is - your customers don`t need a friend, they need someone that can make their work life easier, and someone they can trust to get the job done (buying something is still a job :).

So, nothing wrong with being friendly, that`s a must of course, but, knowing your field, your product, and how it fits with their requirements will mean a lot more than adding a picture in the email signature. That, plus might flag you for spam.

I had a previous employer require it and I did not see any noticeable difference in my email responses. @Kosta_Konfuciusis right. VP is getting more responses because they're a VP.

Not something I'm personally going to do until I can get one of those photos where the eyes follow you no matter where you are. Then I'm all in.

In all seriousness, it's not the worst thing, but if you're curious about hit rates, do as Gasty suggested and run an A/B test for yourself.

Pro tip: if you’re calling on certain cyber security companies or federal agencies your email won’t even get delivered if it contains an image file.

Do it. It's professional and makes a virtual sell more personal by seeing your face. I disagree that having a picture on your signature will alert spam blockers

That's a negative for me.
Adding a picture basically forces them to make a determination about whether they like you or not... before you even have a chance to engage. What if there's something about you, your expression, what you're wearing, the lighting, the background, etc. that they don't like? Then you'll be trying to engage someone with them purely deciding on your appearance rather than you as a person.
