Don't forget where you came from. Meaning build the relationship with the SDR assigned to you and formulate a plan of how to do business together.

Be humble and be willing to learn and adapt on the fly. Be coachable.

High producing SDRs can sometimes struggle when making the change because they were so good at being an SDR they aren’t open to adapting / changing / learning for the new role.

Thanks for the advice. Hoping to take my prospecting and meeting setting skills into the role while being adaptable to becoming what it takes to make a successful AE.

Stay on/listen to recordings of the meetings you've booked w/for the highest performing AEs.  Pay attention to the discovery, verbiage, flow of conversations, and how they interact with the prospect/client.  Let the org know you're looking to make the change, and be ready for the possible role-play...in your own style.  Worst that can happen is they say no (for now), then ask for coaching to make the transition.  Good luck!

Always be working on your communications skills. I sometimes see BDRs moving into the AE role who have done well in the BDR role despite poor communication [i.e. quality writing skills, ability to ask high-level and open-ended questions].
Working on these areas will put you lightyears ahead of those who are just demo bots / SB AEs processing inbound leads who come with credit cards held out.
