Advice for the job seekers.

This advice was given to me when I started in sales shortly after Abe Lincoln went to the theatre.

The interviewers talking about OTE and how many of their reps meet/exceed targets are just words.

Make sure you take a long walk through the parking lot and look at what people are driving. Older (10 yr+) models are a sure sign that the folks working are super frugal or not making bonus/commission that you need to treat yo self.

Newer models are a sign that there is stability in income (for a loan/lease) or enough extra income to splurge on something "nice".

Just something that's always stuck with me and worked out well. Hope it helps.

P.S. If you ever, EVER, see a PT Cruiser in the parking lot. Don't bother interviewing, just find out who's car that is and interview them to find out what terrible life choices lead them there.

To an extent... I drive an older car becuase I don't care about cars.

There were years when I drove a Honda fit and w2d $500k

People spend money on different things.

I would generally disagree with this post......judging success by a car is a terrible terrible idea.

But the PT Cruiser part is spot on.

Not judging success. Just financial stability. I even caveat that with frugal employees.

I have an older truck but its a lifestyle thing, not a money thing. My wife has the newer/nicer car.

I agree - if they have a PT Cruiser they definitely have some stories to learn from.
