AE Communication?

So, our AE's are absolutely horrible when it comes to communication/CRM compliance. For context, our BDR team sets appointments for them, and then all activity is supposed to be logged in CRM so we can get paid a % on those proposals and deals.

Certain teams do really well at keeping us informed and up to date on what's going on, but most are horrendous. They ghost us and hide money hoping we won't notice, which clearly isn't best practice. I keep an excel sheet on the side so I'm always up to date and able to reference everything. Our manager doesn't want to get involved because he's worried that the bosses of the AE's won't help us out. He kind of has an "it is what is" mindset on it and always says he'll talk to them, but never does.

It technically isn't and shouldn't be our job to babysit those at a higher level, but that's where we're at. How do we go about getting everyone on the same page and getting things to where they should be?

Well be honest. Tell them that it s your livelyhood on the line. If they don t realise that, theyโ€™re idiots.ย

I think we should get the right to address them as lazy idiots as well, or for a deeper cut - Marketingย

Your manager needs to grow some balls and fight for not only his team, but himself as well. It just sounds like heโ€™s afraid to stand up to the AE managers. If anything, go to his manager if he refuses to act. Losing out on money because the AEs are too lazy to update the CRM is them basically pissing in your face and laughing about it. That gets me fired up.ย

Agreed. Our team went through CRM about a month ago for some clean up. Found a good chunk of change not linked to various reps. I guess it's more of a work in progress but still not where we need to be.ย

Had this problem as a BDR at a former company and to say it grinded my gears is an understatement, especially since the BDRs were the ones setting up AEs to close... Our manager had a policy implemented where if you didn't update within 24 hours you were taken off the rotation for a week. All of a sudden every AE was updating with 1-2 hours like a miracle happened and the red sea was parted.

1. Thats crap, if your manager wonโ€™t handle it Iโ€™d tell the manager I guess we arenโ€™t worried about goals and quotaโ€™s anymore. Then ask when you can get your OTE set for your new salary. 2. Call the AE, and tell them to move the bar forward or they arent getting meetinsg set anymore. 3. Hapoy Friday!

Yeah your manager is the one that needs a talking to. It's his job to have a spine and fight for his reps. Your numbers are HIS numbers as well, so it's lame that he's so apathetic about everything.

I can tell you there's a training miscommunication. As in, AEs aren't trained by their managers lead protocol in a lot of places.ย
