AE Salary Expectations

Hi all,

What should someone with a year's worth of experience as an SDR expect in base salary as an AE in NYC? A recruiter gave me a range of 70-90k depending on experience. Thanks!

Seems pretty accurate. Check Repvue

Check RepVue, but coming from a Canadian perspective I wouldn't imagine you'd get any more than that with your level of experience.

70 - 90 Base for a 140 - 180 OTE (50/50 split) sounds on-target for that experience band.

Not a lot of $$$ for the NYC market, but that's what I see most reps in that experience band get paid.

Of course, that is for a larger company. Working for a startup, expect 25 - 40% less with the opportunity to get some equity.

Interesting they said OTE was about 100k or so which I found interesting

I'd be asking about the split - are they doing a 70/30?

100K OTE is SDR pay in NYC. You need to be minimum 120K if it's a 60/40 or 70/30 Plan for an AE role.

I would still be looking for something more like the 140 - 180 as mentioned above for an 'entry level' AE role.

Yeah that base for NYC sounds about right. Definitely check Repvue and Compgauge though

Yeah, that could be on the lower end for NYC given that expenses are outrageous there. Check RepVue to ensure you aren't being mislead for your market.

I have seen that be around the range they tend to hire at, is 70-90 just base or is that OTE?

That’s really good for just base. Shoot, a lot of AE roles have that as base

That's about right from my understanding with a 50-50 split

Also seeing that in some places outside NYC

I would check RepVue like everyone is saying, but i also agree that the range seems legit. i would be surprised if you got the high end of that range TBH.

70 could be a little bit light. 80-90 with 50/50 would be very appropriate for NYC younger AE. recruited for these roles for the last year.

on a 50/50 split, that's about right. sucks because it's NYC and that doesn't really go that far, but in normally priced markets that's about right.
