AE - SE Relationship

Having sat on both sides of this relationship I'm curious what other people think is key to building and maintaining a success AE - SE partnership? Some of the topics I'd be interested to hear more on are things like levels of support, demo cadence, preparation, customer interaction, proactive follow up, and just overall strategy to working through deals.

For myself, the biggest aspect of this relationship is trust. I know the topics that I can address confidently on a call and I know that when I throw a question to my SE, they will crush it as well. As you know, you get into a good rhythm with a trusted SE. Thatโ€™s brought to light when you have a newer SE sit in with you...๐Ÿ˜ญ

Rhythm and trust, two huge points! Haha breaking in a new SE is definitely pretty tough because that trust and rapport don't just happen overnight.ย

It so depends on the SE & AE. My peers can be very introvert, and geekie. So I am only speaking for myself here. The relationship should be a partnership, come up with a plan and execute against it. Treat me like an equal. I am best of buds with some of my reps.ย

I like this a lot. SE/SC's I've worked with can be tough to crack because of their introverted nature but really like the focus on the partnership aspect.ย

Like @NCwafflesย mentioned trust is very important. And accountability... Most SEs will react well to the approach :)
