Are you drinking now? If so I think this answers the question lol. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking.

I had a rep that was as shy as they come in the office, but man team happy hours that shell is off and they were the life of the party. I thought as a good producer while shy maybe i should let them drink during the day and blow the numbers out of the water. Me however would be the demise, which is why i gave up drinking 15 years ago this june

pretty big slippery slope. things can go south real quick, but I've seen it help some reps come out of their shell a bit.ย

All comes down to intention.ย

Unfortunately there are a lot of stupid people out there who also can't hold their booze...and it can come back to bite them. Especially in the professional sense. Seen it happen; seen people lose their jobs the day after a night of dumb, alcohol-induced choices.ย

Slippery slope. I wouldn't have more than one drink before having conversations with clients, I get too chatty and honest after a few beverages.ย

The moment I crack open a cold brewski, Iโ€™m calling it quits...so itโ€™s usually an after 5/weekend thing for me, but if my day can end early, look out!ย

Interesting topic this. I have worked for organsiations where Alcohol with lunch is encouraged if with clients. Other places have said if that happens the rest of the afternoon you are done - Leave day.

I personally dont drink during the week as I have found getting older it takes me days to recover.

Thanks!

I had a similar experience, working at both types of environments. Have to admit, the alcohol friendly sales team performed better ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ

I personally drink only on the weekends, unless there is a celebratory toast for closing a monster account ๐ŸŽฏ

It can be a great social lubricant but you have to be careful sometimes walking that fine line.

I think the whole drinking culture can be helpful to build rapport among team and managers. However, if you do not drink it will subconsciously prevent the rep from getting promoted. I'm seeing a lot of non drinkers depending on the company and the culture have this against them.ย ย
