I can only think about 2 things better than closing the largest deal on your forecast on a Friday:
- Hit the forecast for your month on that same day
- Hit your FY forecast
And I was lucky enough to hit all 3 today. I just sold to another Tech Company a deal I've been working on for the past 4 months. It went long due to their procurement department and the fact they're paying me from another country so there's a whole bunch papers that needed to be filled on my end.
The deal itself is not extremely big, but I'm proud of it as it was the last one I had forecasted to close this quarter. Now, I'm the one who'll deploy after selling so it was actually the last deal I could close to fill up my Q3 when it comes to deployment. This one will take me longer as it was a training proposal + sales coaching for a newly formed sales organization. I've worked with the VP of sales for some time and he actually called me in 6 months ago and we agreed there was something to work on together, only back then I could have sold but not trained people, so he passed on it, then 2 months after that he calls me in, says he still has funding and is willing to wait, and we shook hands on it. Then their procurement department started going back and forth with me, then it was EOQ for them so "no spending money" mode was on, and then I got an email saying "we're ready". That was last week but unfortunately, the contract didn't get back to me until today, which is why I didn't forecast it for July.
Feels good. Happy Friday everyone!
