All: would it be frowned upon to ask about an org by name specifically in the war room? I’m entertaining a new company and repvue score for the most part looks good. There are quite a few bad reviews that are freaking me out? Thoughts?

Then just ask the question, but expect limited results. Trust the reviews and go with your gut.

Jebus. This hurts to read. All bold posts are frowned upon. Use a title for the title of your post. Then use the next section for the post itself. Which org? Out with it already.

never heard of it, sorry. Take those RepVue / Glassdoor reviews with a grain of salt to some extent.. I was at a small start up and they forced us to post glowing 5 star reviews. I then went to a bigger company that was actually a lot better culturally but the reviews were much worse. Why? A lot of disgruntled ex employees who couldn't hack it or people who never made it through the interview process and wanted to revenge.

If you really wanna know, reach out to some current employees to ask for their experience or ask the recruiter if they can put you in touch with a peer

Thanks for the insight! I saw repvue and Glassdoor posts noting that they were paying employees to leave good reviews on Glassdoor and repvue. I’ll reach out to some peers.

I was at a place with brutal culture on the sales side, awful director, but there was an internal campaign and we ended up making one of those 'Canada's Best Employers' lists, which was laughable.

That’s my primary concern. My current org is a nightmare, so I don’t want to jump ship to another shit show.

I know a little about the founder (Joe Lonsdale). Also founded palantir (with Peter Thiel), Addepar, and a few others.

Guy is a fucking hitmaker. Alleged to be one of the very few to found 4 companies with valuations exceeding $1B. If I recall correctly, they just recently sold OpenGov.

I second @oldcloser 's commentary on using the body of a post to actually ask your question.

It's definitely frowned upon, but we're anon, so nobody is going to doxx themselves for you.

I've never heard of OpenGov, but as the consensus indicates - take reviews with a grain of salt, talk to some current/former employees, and trust your gut.

If it’s Opengov, i have a buddy that worked there. He did well at first but started to get impatient and taper off second half of his first year. He says they screwed him but this guy is an idiot and i wouldn’t be surprised if he screwed himself. Take it all with a grain of salt and do your best

Hello all, new to the group and very happy to be here. To those who have been using the platform... what is your best advice on how to beat use the war room to start networking, contributing, and getting the most out of it. Think back to what you wish someone told you when you first joined. TY!
