American Express Interview

Hi Savages,

I'm here once again asking for your advice/opinion.

A recruiter from AMEX reached out and mentioned that although they don't have immediate open roles, she would like to connect to share more about AMEX and learn about myself to understand what roles would be relevant for me.

So, it seems like it will be a sort of informal interview. I am super happy where I am at and nit looking to switch, but come on, why would I not at least chat with AMEX, right?

My question is, I've only ever interviewed for SaaS companies (And fast food/retail stories as a teenager haha). So, I'd like some advice thoughts on how it might be different?

I know there are multiple FinServ guys/gals here and would love to hear from you all, as well as from everyone else.

Sounds interesting! Hope some of our finserv savages check in. At the very least, she should provide some interesting info about the company and what they look for.

I.....have no idea what a sales person would do at AMEX.
this is ether some Stealth Mode recruiting, or a desperate recruiter looking to push you into an open role.

It's real. They have a pretty bad ass sales team. They do a lot of corp selling as well as partnership hunting.

Let me know what benefits they offer to employees if they get their own AMEX card. I bet they are pretty nice!

Imagine it's either a wealth management or B2B use AMEX for corp card type position. Did they give any insight into what type of BD roles that would potentially fill?

I've sat in on trainings from AmEx when I was in merchant services, but that's it.
