I have both the personal and the business version. The new updates do nothing for me on the personal version. I am going to downgrade it in october when my AF hits. I travel a fair amount and the perks are nice but their airline credits are annoying as hell. The new updates do nothing for me.
The amex gold is a way better card IMO for my spending habits and its costs so much less.

I was looking at the Resy offer a month ago then I noticed they upped the AF by $100 and revamped the benefits to shit I wouldn't use.
Good point- this is while pricing is going up $145 annually in the US. Price goes up, service gets worse.
I like my AA rewards card. The miles add up fast and upgrades are always nice. Sure there are better rewards cards, but for me keeping it simple is the way to go. The annual fee is basically what lounge access would cost anyway so it’s a wash
Hows the lounge? Considering signing up for one of these airlines CCs with access. What are the perks?
Have one flight delayed by more than 1 hour and the lounge pays for itself. If anything just for comfy seating, some food and snacks, etc. Covid has made the lounges lame(r) but when the come back full scope, worth every penny.
I got the United explorer mileageplus but I’m working towards that infinite.

1M miles. I’m poor. Only $64,000 limit. Have to pay it off your balance monthly. If $64k is two cards down from the top then I have no clue what kind of limit is on the Infinite. Gotta be half a mil or million dollar limit. Probably gotta have the Infinite for a long time before you get their black card.
I mean, AmEx Platinum doesn't have a limit at all. That was a terrifying thing to get at 26 years old.
I got a Gold mid-pandemic and I've been very happy so far--but haven't had to work with their folks on anything yet. However, their latest "offers" have blown harder than a dyson hand dryer.
Shit ton of wine offers and luxury apparel I've never heard of. Thanks Amex.
Pro-tip: I rock the AMEX cobalt. They just upped the annual fee to the equivalent of $120USD and the points compatibility.

Dirt cheap card, with no real features. I have another premium credit card for lounges/FX fees/actually booking travel/insurance etc, but the Cobalt earns me 5x travel points. Meaning I buy breakfast for $20 and I just earned 100 miles.. the earn rate is outrageous, and it’s compatible with a ton of major airlines 1:1 or at very very high transfer rates.

IMO, for what you get, esp. with the cards getting worse, platinum/gold aren’t worth it. You can piece together better benefits, for less, by getting the cobalt and something else.
If you are paying fees for the benefit of borrowing money you might be doing it wrong. But I'm a bit more conservative than the average sales person so tell me to go fuck myself.
