Any recommended salesforce classes or certification programs?

I know salesforce has trailhead, but has anyone taken a class or salesforce certification program from a 3rd party that they'd recommend? Trying to beef up my game and wouldn't hurt to add a certificate to the resume.

Trailhead is pretty well developed, the amount of money and hours they sunk into creating it is staggering and likely won't be copied well from an outside company. Money would likely be better used on some skills specific training.
