Any Soccer fans? Who are your overseas teams and how did you become a fan?

Huge Arsenal fan here. When I was 12 and visiting my uncle in London he took me to a game at Highbury (their old stadium with literal marble fucking halls). Thierry Henry scored a hat trick.

What's your story?

Liverpool fan for two decades now. Played with them in FIFA and kind of just fell in love from there.

I’ll upvote despite your poor choice 😜 bunch of my friends were the same. We were playing FIFA before the MLS came to Chicago so English football is all we knew.

I’ll take my recent Champions League and PL wins. :) And Klopp is a demigod.

Klopp is the man. Was devastated when he jumped to Liverpool whenever Wenger was on his last years. Wanted him at Arsenal.

I will say I’m excited to see what Arteta can do with all that deadwood removed from Arsenal and what looks like a big summer. May not be the guy long term but definitely a rough period to take over as a first time manager

One of my buddies is a big Arsenal fan and was livid that Wenger was still there when Klopp was available.

Yeah I truly believe that we wouldn’t have seen the post Wenger rebuild/dip that we’ve had for the last 3-4 years. But here we are without European football next year 😬

Manchester United - was a season ticket holder for 2 years and lived a 10 minute walk from Old Trafford! I’m an Aussie. Dad was a Liverpool fan, but the first football match I remember watching was the ‘99 Champions League final where United beat Bayern. Rest is history

Well... I spent 10 years in Europe and my mother is Italian, so for me Inter Milan is life. Fell in love during the Mancini years... which has made this Italian Euro victory that much sweeter!

Didn’t have much skin in the game but wanted Saka to do well. Mancini turned that Italy team into an unreal machine

Chelsea. When the 2002 World Cup was on my dad would be watching professional sports at like 1AM, for a guy who never really watched much sports at all.
.
I was a kid so it was intriguing for me to see my dad doing that. So after a few nights in a row I came to see what was up and I was sold. I fell deeply and madly in love with the sport. Prompted dad to show me more.
.
Fell in love with Spain before it was cool, watching them beat Turkey that year. Supported them die-hard since then through ups and downs.
.
And few months later I saw Chelsea playing in the Premiership. Mind blown! I was like waaaait, they play/televise pro-sports YEAR ROUND?! I liked the blue. Blue, after all is the colour, and football is the game.

EPL I don’t really have one tbh so my fandom there is up for grabs. I do follow Barcelona pretty intently as that was the first stadium I visited in Europe a few years ago and was in awe of the tour taking us down on the pitch. That’s pretty sick to see a hat trick in person from Henry!

Also have heard the Nou Camp is super dope, unless you’re in the away fan side. Apparently it’s an absolute shit hole that wouldn’t pass 1970s building codes

I think Mikel Arteta in time can turn around Arsenal, but having said that, my fandom can be found in Tottenham Hotspur. Really started with watching Harry Kane all the time, then turned into being a fan for the Hotspur club. It’s been a tough road… My mom was born in the UK, unfortunately have not been across the pond to watch a match - but she got me into the sport at a very young age.

No one can call you fair weather! Absolutely brutal record for Harry Kane in finals. Wonder if he will ever get one

Not at Tottenham in all likely-hood. If Nuno can't get them going this year, Levy has to reconsider his position on selling Harry (you would think). A massive rebuild with that money would be big for the club, probably the best road forward consdering Kane's repeated ankle injuries each year.

Tottenham has to admit to themselves a rebuild may be the best option.

Your thoughts on Arteta?

West Ham - Because I didnt want to bandwagon on some team for their "history" or because they were good.  Have the last 12 years of my life been miserable, yes, however with us in the europa league next year I can only hope we keep growing and going up!

I'm late to the party. Sorry about that!

Manchester City supporter here, have been it the last 13 years. I became a City supporter because i'm a savage an all my friends and family is either Liverpool or Manchester United fans.

I would rather choose a team no one would support than be apart of a club everyone loved. 😊

Late here too, grew up playing American sports and then my kids played footy, started watching the prem 20+ years ago just so I could try to understand what the hell I was watching when the kids played. Fell in love with Spurs when they were mid-table at best. Been able to see them become a good club and then suffer through the past three seasons after making the CL final. Cruel game footy, but I love it. #ENICOUT  #LEVYOUT

Do you know if Eriksen is playing for Inter or what the plan for him is moving forward? He's a tough guy to read and is either really quiet or just salty, but I miss him at Spurs but he couldn't get out fast enough!

I think he’ll get back to Ajax or OB (Odense Boldklub) where he was playing as youth. <br>He can’t play at Inter because of his pacemaker, but that is possible in either the Netherlands or Denmark. But I think Ajax is his next stop.

Overseas? Are all of you from US? Nobody from the rest of the world?

Joke aside, Galatasaray as I'm Turkish and it's the team both my parents support. They even took me to the stadium twice. Altho nowadays I just follow the scores on twitter and laugh my ass off at the incompetency of the team lol. Haven't even got the new jerseys with 4 stars IIRC, that's how detached I am.

On national level, deffo not Turkey. Any team with handsome players has my support.
