Any women in this group?

Curious if the admins are thinking about this too and if there is some representation in here or lots of "corporate bros".

All I'll tell you in regards to numbers is after next week it should be close to 50/50. This has been an ongoing conversation and I've had several meetings with my Lady Savage braintrust to work on this.

V top of mind I'll say that.

After being the only woman in a room for decades I'm immune to all the testosterone BS.  Totally don't see it anymore - just noise.

I'm interested to see the end result of this poll. Will we be at industry standard? More? Less? @GeneralCorp - is there are goal in mind? Reflect the reality of 80/20 male/female in sales, or skew toward female to get better representation? Soooo curious.

I assumed that the poll will be answered by more women because men will be less likely to click on a post called "Any women in this group?"

The whole vibe is pretty masculine, tho, TBH...  the jargon is all militant and it feels so much like what I've been seeing at sales meetings for years.  I love this concept - I love the posts I've seen - but from the first minute I thought, "this isn't the space for me" based on the branding and approach.

Exactly my thought - when I saw how this was marketed & the language around it couldn’t help but roll my eyes and think it’s not going to be for me either but I am in here anyway since let’s be real, we’re used to this in our professional lives and just have to make the most of what this might offer. Looking forward to a future with more diverse sales leadership so this isn’t the norm.

Right - you're so spot on.  There's so few women in sales and especially in sales management, and I dont know if hiring managers recognize that positioning counts.  When I read words like "hunter mentality" and "war room" and the like, it automatically tells me this is a locker room sales floor.

And there are plenty of studies including a Harvard study that shows that masculine-coded words keep people from applying to jobs - and probably joining otherwise helpful communities like this one.

Here's a good resource to check for coded language:  http://gender-decoder.katmatfield.com/about#masculine

Sales gal over here - 1 of 4 women on my hunting team and we humbly outperform every other team (3 others) in the company. Shoutout to my boss sales women out there!

this place seems super...well..."bro"ish. The word Bravado as a case in point on the overall vibe here: bravado meaning 'boldness intended to impress or intimidate.' In my 10+ years experience those are fatal flaws for sellers. But I'll give this place a chance and see if there are good conversations to learn from.
