Anyone else know of sales reps that live uniquely fun lives outside of work?

So I was catching up with an old colleague of mines who was usually one of the quietest people on the sales team, despite hitting his numbers. We get a couple drinks and he tells me about his life outside of work. The guy works as a club promoter in Miami on the weekends and does photography for women looking to break into modeling.


Now I was a bit confused since he is 35 and that's the age you are supposed to have kids and get married but he seems to really be enjoying his life right now. Then come to his Instagram account and I see that some celebrities are actually following him!


Software sales rep during weekdays, one fun guy during weekends. Anyone else know of people who live a uniquely fun life outside of work in sales?

Sooooo glad we're anonymous.

Because that means that I can share that I have a cave in my backyard and I fight crime and the underworld in my spare time. Nobody suspects a thing!

You know I can't be specific about the technology I use, but suffice to say, "jet" isn't exactly accurate, but you do have the gist of it, yes.

The tricky bit was getting it to fit in with the underground pool (think Hearst Castle-ish) without disclosing the entire complex.

I'd say sales people usually get up to lots of fun stuff outside of work. Most salespeople I know, including myself, need to blow off steam through partying, golfing, camping, motorcycles, etc. Activities to get out the house and forget about work.

depends on what you define as "fun". I definitely enjoy being a dad. Models and Clubbing are great but its all fleeting.

My mountain biking and off-triathlon adventures have taken me all over, which is what I define as fun. So its all relative.

I have a friend who is in health care consulting by day, then a killer DJ by night. he is a huge hit in the LGBTQ community where he lives and the pics are just insane hahah.

A colleague of mine had a half a million revenue side business. He was just there for the nice colleagues and all the rights I would build up.

Another one was filthy rich. Like generations after him did not have to work. However he enjoyed selling. The rush of making a deal.

Gotta keep life interesting outside work! I do rental property management with a friend on the side. I also recently purchased a boat - first-time buyer! Lots of boat parties and chillings. I live in Montreal and the city life here is simply amazing, great restaurants, bars and clubs!

He won't make enough, club promoters do not make a lot in most cases unless they do it full time and model photography doesn't pay that well since every other guy is trying to get into it. He is doing it out of hobby.

I think rollerblading in my spare time is pretty sick, but that's just me. I do have co workers who are traveling for long weekends in Vegas, going out drinking during the week and clubs on weekends as well.
