Anyone hiring entry-level SDRs/ BDRs?

The title says it all. To give a bit about myself:

I am a competitive, goal oriented, and results driven performer with a proven track record in the construction industry. My process driven work style, dynamic interpersonal skills, and coachability make me an asset to any team.

I’m 26, grew up in a blue-collar household, and have spent my career working in the trades, including running my own business as an independent subcontractor in residential renovations and construction for the past 2 years.

I’ve wanted to do client-facing corporate work for several years, however not having a college degree, I wasn’t sure it was possible and the amount of interviews that ended immediately when I shared this fact seemed to confirm it. Believe it or not, a guy on TikTok made a hilarious video that showed me what is possible in sales, and after learning more from his other videos, I dove in.

Given my experience in the trades, I’m particularly interested in Operations/ Asset Management solutions for Facilities Maintenance teams and Real Estate Back Office Management solutions. I’m also deeply curious about B2B marketing and sales solutions. At the end of the day, I’m looking to break into the industry and am open to exploring any opportunity that seems to be a good fit.

Thank you! I’ve applied with them, not heard anything back, although its only been a day.

Figured I’d be active in the process and generate some potential leads rather than passively hoping they bring an opportunity to me

Appreciate the hustle. To be brutally honest your resume needs a lot of work, both formatting and content wise.

 My 2 cents:

- It should fit on one page- Drop objective and references- You don't have to list every job you've ever had.
- For the jobs that you do list focus on accomplishments, not duties.

Thank you for your critique @braintank
I recently worked with a recruiter on a Billing Assistant job with the 19th largest law firm in the world. Decided to not move forward, didn’t seem like a great fit; this is the resume he put together on my behalf
I see your point in listing accomplishments over duties

Going to try to be nice but I hope they didn't charge you. I've seen a lot of early/ entry level sales resumes and this one won't make it past the automated screener. I'll see if there's a way to upload a redacted version of mine for example. But rule #1 is only one page. Rule #2 is they shouldn't read like job descriptions.

No need for niceties, @braintank I appreciate the honesty. I’ll get to work on revising it, and if I’m able, I’ll upload a single-page, accomplishments-focused resume to this thread
If you’re willing to share your resume and trust an internet stranger enough to keep it in confidence, I can give you my email

This is not a comment for you, @BigWylin ...but why is the Bravado Jobs feature not smushed into your eyeballs at the onboarding phase of this platform? It would prevent posts like this because the user would understand exactly how to find a kickass job.

It was smushed into my eyeballs. I honestly didn’t know Bravado had a social component until after going thru the Jobs.
I made the post to generate my own leads and see if the community had any advice to share. I have no idea if/when Bravado’s recruiters will get in touch with me, and I’m not one to sit back and leave my life to chance.

Apart from all the comments so far (which are pretty spot on re: condensing your CV & Bravado Jobs), have you considered just cold-calling some Heads of SDR/BDR/Growth?

A lot of sales roles recruit for personality just as much as experience - giving 'em a buzz & having a chat isn't just a great way to sell yourself, but given the shit you'll probably eat from doing so - will give you an idea of if you'll even like the gig, tbh.

It's definitely not a guaranteed way to land a role, but better than scattering your resume around the place and crossing your fingers.

Add a bunch of SDR Managers on LI - plenty of them have their mobile in the contact info. Then cold call 'til something sticks.

Then just ask if you can send your CV directly to them, if possible. Cut the line.

I heard ZoomInfo doesn’t require a college degree and that’s a pretty good name brand within sales solutions. I also use the tool and it’s pretty decent.

Hey are a couple of LinkedIn groups that keep posting SDR jobs. Might want to try that option too?

This is an open question to everyone. Do you keep an Objective on your resumes outside of entry level jobs?

1- go watch YouTube videos  about how to make a cold call and create a script to pitch yourself
2- go to LinkedIn and identify a bunch of VP, Head of SDRs and managers of tech companies you like.
3- add ZoomInfo, SeamlessAI, SignalHire and LeadIQ chrome extensions to find the phone number of the people you target on LinkedIn.
4- make 200 cold call everyday until you land an interview

Bonus: don’t mention you don’t have a degree until they asked you directly. Then respond back mentioning how you get your education in a non traditional way and how that will help you be successful at your role.
