Anyone into FIRE here?

A lot of people in sales are in it for the cash money. Wondering if anyone here is into FIRE (Financial Independence / Retire Early) as well?

If so, what's your FIRE number and age? I'd like to get to $2M before 50 at 3.5-4% SWR. Move from NYC to a LCOL area with less taxes. I save a little over 50% of my pay every month. Any idea what you'd like to do during retirement?

I am in it for Fire, but I like to think crypto will help me with that

I have never heard of the acronym FIRE. Iโ€™ll google it now.ย

Any recommendations on good sources of information on this?

Mr. Money Moustache and the Mad FIentist are a good start.ย  It's a millenial money saving movement to retire early or reach financial indendence (aka fuck you money).

I used to read a lot about it but just got depressed because every story started off with โ€œI make $125K a year and have over 1 mil saved for farโ€.

So Iโ€™m just doing what I can to pay down debts (just have my condo now) and stack the investments at a rate that works for me.

Those get all the attention but it's all about your save and burn rate.ย  There are lots of FIRE folks in different non-tech lifestyles.

Yeah, no real set number as I want to be FI. Probably thinking baseline is $10m by 40. Very doable.

Im' from a VHCOL place like NYC and would never move to a LCOL city. There's a reason why people move to nice cities like SF, LA, NYC - more activities.ย

I'm doing it by investing in crypto and real estate mostly.ย
