Are Commission points supposed to equate to ~10 cents?

I was looking at Comission store items and what items sell for at Retail value. In doing so I noticed that some of the more expensive commission store items are the same cost as some of the less expensive ones because they are older products such as the Ipad or Macbook.

That said I imagine that upcoming BFCM will have a store refresh and all but it was interesting to notice. @Gasty any insight or color to add is welcome.
