I do too. Plus you get rewarded each time you answer one and they really add up. I’ve made nearly $70 in Amazon gift cards so far for minimal work. Thanks Corp!

LinkedIn, yes.

However, I find the ones here relevant and thought-provoking. Always curious about the opinions, methods, etc. of people in similar situations.

LinkedIn is full of people out for clout with polls like, "hot dogs or hamburgers."

It's basically turned into a garbage Facebook that we're obligated to have for what is left of professional purposes.

Edit: Realizing this second sentence is essentially quoting @funcoupons on an earlier thread today.

Agreed with a lot of the comments saying polls here seem less gimmicky than on LinkedIn.

I’m going to upvote this post because, even though it’s largely sarcastic, I like how it’s provoking people to consider the value of the poll question format.

I only like the valuable ones, like asking me if I prefer to work from office, home or mix

Which is one of the most important questions all companies should be asking today.

I’d actually prefer some more specific polls (mega thread stickies if you will) about  things like technology being used, etc. (CRm, sales intelligence, sales acceleration, call coaching, etc/. would love to see data on the thousands of sellers on some of that top line stuff.

Agreed. Some valid choices on actual topics would be stellar. I'm jaded by the shiny lure of polls and linkedin lately.

not really, I mean if you're asking the right questions that inspire people to really be divided, what you want is to know what people think so, why not.

I like them. You get to the answers directly and also you get to know what a lot of people are thinking about

No i kinda like them they just give you an impression of how the public is feeling about a topic. In a way its a source of direct feedback

on LinkedIn the polls are getting ridiculous. on here, you get points and its a good way to answer something quickly. most polls are pretty decent, just one or two are pretty bad from what I've seen.

Is this one of the bad ones? 👎 I know it is.

Total bullshit. But it works! Why? Because every time we start a poll we stoke the ego of the person on the other side of the screen:
- I am craving to know what you think! You're so important to me!
- Oh yesss, I will tell you my opinion! My opinion is so important!

I've always been a huge poll guy, but I do wish we could see who voted what. I know I answer LinkedIn polls more honestly because the poster sees how I voted

There are thoughtful and creative ways to use a poll for a sales purpose, without it sounding too salesy.

Otherwise, yes they tend to be crap on LI.
