Are private Slack groups dangerous?

Imo, definitely. When my select group of friends created a private group, all we do is shit talk and if HR found out I don't think they'd be pleased.

But it's like a drug and shit talking about that muppet Kyle from Mops, or the bunk account this BDR tried to pass me is like getting a hit of that sweet sweet black tar nectar. And now that it's harder to do happy hours, it's my only source of solitude

Never say anything on company comms you wouldn’t say to the CEOs face, that’s my rule of thumb

HR can and probably does read all private Slack groups. I would never use it as the space to "talk shit".

Slack is for work talk only.

Rule of thumb: Any means of communication provided by the company is accessible and controlled by the company. Make an external group to have those convos.
