Are prospects sick perverts who get off on ghosting us?

Been in sales for over 10 years and I still can’t get over it when prospects ghost us after having a productive conversation and confirming interest.

It’s not just my time, asshole. I booked an SME for this call that you ghosted on for the 2nd time now.

Prospects who ghost instead of just saying yes / no

DEFINITELY C.

It might not be personal, but they're still want to inflate their senses of self worth at our expense.

Not really. Its just that you’d think i’d be used to it by now but nope.

And its not just that, really. A big pet peeve of mine in general is when people are seemingly oblivious with how what they’re doing affects people… Like, when I went to lunch today, there was just a dude standing in the doorway of the restaurant appearing to contemplate if he wanted to eat there… do that in literally 6 feet away from this spot in any direction, stupid. I’m trying to go in.

They are the same adults that don’t know where to eat when asked and can’t make decisions in general or say no.

That third one. And I've been that person before (so ashamed to admit it and I've seen the light, but it's true...)

Same. Had this happen twice this week after what seemed like great calls/demos. Been in sales for 20 yrs and don't remember this ever happening as much (or at all) as it does now.

the real reason is they're scared on confrontation so they're too scared to just say they aren't interested. They don't have the mental strength to say no when you start combatting objections. Therefore ghosting is their only way to avoid it.

Or, the other kind, where they just don't care about you or your time. They have 0 respect for you and are more than happy to keep you on the hook

Anyone ruined getting a meeting by being too impatient after they suggest times but don't confirm straight away?

How do you all handle a situation where a prospect has a contract approved and is ready for signature, but one of their family members just passed away? Want to be extremely sensitive to the situation...feel there's never a "right" time to reach out and never want to be salesy...
