We use Outreach, where anyone can join the call in secret. That's how we coach each other- no recording. I think that's perfectly legal

Wtf? I don't like that either. That feels like a betrayal.

It does bug me that management can swoop into my cold calls unannounced- betrayal to the rep.

To me, it doesn't feel like a betrayal to the prospect. When I was ramping, I would do cold calls on speaker phone with a coach, who just listened in. She gave me tips on how to objection handle, and give prospects a more valuable cold call. Joining a call in Outreach is the same experience, but remote.

I've always wondered about this. I always recorded everything because my manager wanted me to, but I don't think he knew anything about the laws around this

Don't the products you use for recording keep you compliant from recording someone illegally

Even though company policy is to record everything, I turn it off for every call and meeting. I’ve found that prospects are more comfortable and transparent when they’re not recorded.
