Ace,

I always worked remote, but met almost all my propspects and partners on-site at their offices.

Losing 30 minutes of windshield time between each appointment has more than compensated for the added difficulties of being remote. Our fiscal ends in June, and I’m set to have the best year of my career.

As soon as a meeting’s done I’m able to send my emails and go outside with the kids or do more work. It doesn’t “feel” as productive, but the numbers speak for themselves.

That's an interesting insight. Thanks a lot!

Would you recommend a blend of both? I was thinking that we can close online, but relationship building needs to feel personal which counts for retention

agreed - much more productive, much more flexibility around scheduling, much better work/life balance. i don't miss pre-COVID and plan to keep as much of this style as possible going fwd

I've found I'm more streamlined at home and am set to have my best year ever, but it's much easier to pick yourself up from some Ls and get the tribal knowledge from the office, so that aspect has been a little bit of a struggle.

One thing I've noticed on WFH is that there is a lot more "crap talking" because everyone is operating on a remote messaging software.

A lot harder to talk crap in office with others around.

It's defeating morale a lot easier than in office.

That said, we are also more productive on WFH than others.

Aah I see your point. When going wfh, culture becomes the topmost priority!

Hands down working from home has made me just as productive or more. I've been working from my house for about 3 years now and love it. I hated the all unnecessary office drama.

Few points from my opinion...

I got to a point where I hated the office, it was a shitshow. The 'collaboration' was a joke, it was just no personal space and all the 'great culture' was just a bunch of toys like they need to entertain children. So they got just that, lot's of people fucking around all day.

Personally, the push to full remote was a huge breath of fresh air. I traveled either once a week or every other week to clients and partners so I do miss that aspect. You can't build relationships like you can face to face, I think for more complex and longer sales cycles that's a huge advantage. That said since nobody could travel it took the pressure off- and hey guess what, people still have to buy solutions!

I am looking forward to some normalcy but I certainly am looking to wfh for as long as I can. It you set yourself up right, it can be better. You need an office spot though, a room is ideal but at least a spot. You should have some normal routine regardless of the fact your in your home.. don't start showing up to the office in pajamas. Wake up work out, shower get dressed like you would for work and hold yourself accountable to do your job. Takes a little adjustment but the payoff is worth it.

Echoing some of the comments here, I've also had one of my best years to date WFH. Lots of positives from not having to leave the house to make a sale. That said, I do miss the energy of the office and also the separation of work and Rest of Life via the commute.

We are moving to a hybrid model come post pandemic times, which I think is best of both worlds... 2 days in office, 3 WFH.

Yes I'd think a hybrid is the best way to go. It keeps things balanced and you get the best of both worlds

Way better remote, no interruptions, and eliminating the commute time has been huge! The only drawback is missing the chance to strut around after closing a big deal.

Yes that seems to be the theme here. Everyone is going for wfh!
