Are your best friends also on your sales team (past or present)?

We all have our friends from home and college, but in my experience, the closest people in my life are people who I worked with in sales. Going through the highs and lows of quota, closing deals, war stories at the end of the month followed by a celebratory (or not) drink at the end of the day is such a bonding experience that has led to lifelong friendships for me.

If there's one community that I think would share this, it's here! Curious to hear your answers.

Are your best friends also on your sales team (past or present)?

I certainly have some great friends that I worked with in sales, but I have just as many/more friends from other departments at work and outside work. As an adult there aren't a ton of places to make friends, so work is inevitably where I met most of my adult friends.

Agreed. I've made some good friends from my team but have also found some real idiots. It can go both ways depending on your personal experience.

I've made some great friends from my network, but nah, they are not my best friends. Some made for some great roommates though.

Most people on my sales team have been willing to fuck me over or stab me in the back for a commission cheque. But hell of a time going out for beers getting loser drunk with the sales crew.

I have worked with my best friend/roommate at the two sales jobs prior to my current role. It created for some healthy competition and teamwork when talking about what was working vs not - only issue is that we were often talking about work so it was tough to distance yourself from the job at the end of the day

Sales has provided me some of my greatest and closest friends. One of my wedding party groomsmen came from a BDR role we both worked in.

Got a good group from the SDR/AE days. We all went our separate ways (as is inevitable), but we all try to get together quarterly to feast and drink too much. And to re-live the worst calls, pitches, or internal wrist slappings.

Made a lot of great friends on the same sales team - since everyone was based out of different cities I have an excuse to travel half the country :)

You likely spend more time with your coworkers then anyone else outside of a kid or a spouse; so it's easy to naturally become good friends with your colleagues.

Two of my best friends are ladies I worked with for around a year and a half. I haven't worked with them for over a year now, but we chat all the time. We're in different countries but one day we will meet in person. I love them!

Not every best friend I have comes from a sales background, but I can tell you I made some of my best friends back in the trenches for sure.

I have never seemingly made friends with co-workers, I do't do a lot of the social things many people in my industry tend to do
LAte night party, drinks, tv, etc
this is sort of a hiccup to build relationships but i manage
