I would ask if they like to follow trends to stay competitive - maybe the only closed ended question to ever ask a hesitant buyer.

Then, show stats on how everything is moving to the cloud and ask what their main hesitations really are.

in you follow up either spell out or make a deck showing the “why” toy our solution

That makes sense; international clients tend to be more hesitant (assuming you are in the US). Have you thought of obtaining security certificates you're company has received? A European one will probably work better.

Most are. Still a couple of old school companies that require on-prem solutions based on seemingly zero rationale... other than just “we dont trust the cloud”

yes, however any cloud deployment lengthens the sales process due to security reviews etc...

COVID has propelled a lot of my customers to finally move to the cloud as their primary infrastructure and/or utilize SaS where available.

most of ours are already there or even using multi-cloud at this point. I feel like it's been talked about at these older enterprises for years and COVID led to a "shit or get off the pot" moment for their IT orgs.

If they're not there now, they will be soon. Maybe not to stay entirely (hybrid architecture is common now) but there are some benefits that are hard to ignore forever.

The cloud is essentially only someone else's computer.  If they have a data center, they are using the cloud.  Their discomfort might be in security, network, power, cooling or something else.

I mean, shit, do they use Salesforce?  Facebook?  Online banking?  These apps aren't down the hall.
