ARR or size of company/Logos - most important for career?

Looking at a few job opportunities. What do you think is more important showcasing you can sell and manage big logos.. Microsoft, JP Morgan, etc. OR smaller companies 1-10k employees with higher ARR on deal sizes?

Well if it's an Enterprise role you stick with your large successes.

Big money over big logos. Sometimes the most boring companies are gonna spend the most. Think your Infosys and SAP etc with system implementation etc. chase dollars not logos, in my opinion.

Yep agree. Big deals.

Even a massive company will buy some toilet paper. doesn't make it a strategic or great deal just becasue of the logo

Neither opportunity provides both.. Wanting to think through a career growth standpoint and unsure which makes me more marketable in the future?

That's a good question, for me.it would depend upon multiple dimensions such as job role, compensation, benefits associated and some research on the company - ARR growth, culture, reviews, size growth and all other blah bhal stuffs.

Good input. One company is doing deal sizes from 80-180k selling to big logos and the other company ranges from 75k-500k but selling into 750-2500k EE size companies.. thoughts?

Big deals, if you sell a $1m deal to a startup Fintech thats as, if not more, impressive, than selling $1m to JPM (same product obvs) IMO

Yeah that makes sense. So the ARR being more of a weight then the ability to sell to large logos in your opinion?

To an extent-you get some very average reps closing deals with big logos. The ability to navigate these businesses is huge and that’s where you’re looking at those 7 figure account potential- but if you can demonstrate that you closed large arr deals with a smaller business, where you were the largest vendor on their balance sheet for example- that shows that you are a true value seller .
Pros and cons to both. Pretty obvious where my bias is coming in here and that’s the point- if I was hiring, I’d look at deal size more than logos, but I’ve interviewed where my lack of big logo experience has held me back
I’m also a big believer in doing what you enjoy!

For a lot of positions, there is a request to sell into a certain company that they have no access to, so that does help. I know if you have contacts at the bigger F100 companies, that increases your value in enterprise sales.
