Asking for equity refreshes

I'm the second sales hire and received a relatively generous piece of the pie for an IC, but I'm curious to know how y'all have gone about asking for more equity.

Supposedly we'll be offering "Senior AE" titles soon which will increase equity, so I want to come prepared to know what to ask for and expect.

What was the “generous equity amount you got in the first place. If you received a lot already they might not give that much more to you

Depending on your performance, which it sounds like it’s going well, I would lightly bring it up as something you’d like to discuss.

Depends on a few things. Has the pie gotten bigger/diluted? (More funding?)
Have you moved into more responsibility?
What basis are you looking to ask on? Why should they give you more?

Try to figure out what the realistic delta is between what you got and what the first Senior AE hire will get. My guess is 20ish percent.
