Asking for the sale in SaaS?

Hey War Room Junkies,

Most of my sales experience has been with high ticket physical products, now I sell SaaS on a subscription model at an average of $300/month

Let's say it's at the end of a successful demo, they're engaged and interested. Are you sending a proposal? or outright asking for their business at the end of the demo?

Hopefully I'm not being too vague, sometimes I wish I wasn't anon

It's not going to hurt you to ask for the sale assuming you're talking with a decision maker obviously. If you want to feel more comfortable you can try using an upfront contract e.g. "hey assuming everything goes well at the end of this and you've seen everything you need to see I'll want to take 2 minutes to talk next steps and in our world that means sending over an agreement does that work for you?"

If they say no you can ask why they wouldn't be ready and deal with any smokescreen objections up front if they say yes then you have permission to go for it. good luck

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
At $300/month that's basically transaction selling. So yes, I'd be asking for the sale. And I'd be ready to send the paperwork either during the demo, of IMMEDIATELY after.

Big virtual hug, then, “It just makes sense, doesn’t it. Yeah- you have your credit card handy?”

It is fully dependent on your sales cycle, but you need to drive for a close when it is deemed appropriate. End of a demo, or set a closing call to review. Maybe you need to do infosec or legal review. However, you need to outline to closing process as you go.

I’ve seen the AEs at my org go into pricing if there seems to be a fit (similar MRR). I would say it’s a 50/50 split of transactional sales (one call closes) and anything more. Given the price tag, I’d definitely send a proposal and/or outright ask for their business
