BDR lead vs BDR

curious what the group here thinks the compensation in base should be between these two positions? How much more should a BDR team lead expect to make sure than the next BDR with highest tenor at the company?

I feel a BDR lead can fairly make 5-15k more in base and then maybe more in OTE if they have actual manager type responsibilities. Hard to say, I'm just eyeballing it. If I found out my team lead was making that when I was a BDR I wouldn't have been mad

Yep, I’m a BDR Lead and look at it as a player-coach role.
More involved with strategy/copy, bit more pay, less output expected on some weeks.
It’s a good role in a small team (don’t need manager for 2-4 SDRs), and an SDR manager doesn’t = value with operations/strategy.

Lead is expected to be the go to resource for a team, the in-house mentor. I don't see it as a comp differentiator but a prep for management and leadership.

Yeah but if you're expected to be a resource or accepting more responsibility/burdens your pay needs to increase. None of us are doing this work for charity. Otherwise (outside of general friendship), why help others at the cost of your prospecting/sales time?

I would say a BDR lead deserves a minimum 10,000 to 15,000 BASE jump in salary!
