Business Development Rep has a very wide definition. Before the onslaught of SDR roles, a BDR could be a very high level person in a company. Still can be too. Title is not always indicative of job responsibilities.
I once looked at a **BDM** role with a sister company I was in. I reached out to the HM and asked for an informational interview which he kindly granted. I asked him what he was REALLY looking for. He said either a Retired 2star General or head of a Fed Gov Procurement Dept who could walk them into certain organizations. Needless to say, I was not qualified.

So went back to it. Re read the title. It’s definitely BDR. Also it mentions being part of the business development team and BD a bunch of times. Not sure if I should post the link to the ad or if that’s bad form.

no i get that. but what they think is a BDR is not what sales ppl think is a BDR.
In my industry, if you are in business development you are the only person that is focused on brining in revenue (not a sales role though, its complicated) So when i first joined they wanted to make my title BDR so it would match the industry.......sorry cant do that haha
