BDR role at large company or AM/AE at mid-size?

I am at the tail-end of the interview process. Potential opportunities are:

-BDR at Large Tech Company

-AM at scrappy bootstrapped tech scale-up/start up

-AE at small but established travel industry company

Pay + estimated comp is about the same at all 3 (~$90k+) . BDR role doesn't allow promotion until after first year.

There is something to be said for stability, especially since my previous tech start-up just had massive lay-offs after re-org. But I seem to be addicted to start ups.

Thoughts?

Having any experience in a closing role is valuable so you definitely have to take that into account. Also in my opinion, you get far better attention (whether it be on the training and help side of things, or recognition if you're a top performer) at a mid or small sized company. Definitely go for a closing role in a smaller company, and transition to a large tech company after a year or so if you don't enjoy it. You'll then be able to go into a closing role there too.

I’d say shoot for the AE role. Better experience and as @sales101 said you could always go to a larger firm after a year

I'd go with the AE one. I went with a BDR job after I did full-cycle sales and I feel like that's affecting my ability to get an AE role. It's not been great for the ol' self-esteem.
