BDR/SDR's what's the largest commission check you've ever received in a quarter?

What's the largest commission check you've ever received in a quarter?

What did you sell, what was your quota, what % of it did you hit, tips on how you did it, is it repeatable/special circumstances, what's the story behind it?

Looking to see how high the top is!

At my last company we never had commission, just a guaranteed bonus which was worths a months pay. I got it every quarter which was great, but you could never really earn more than that. I'm on my first quarter of commissioned pay now so let's see how it goes!

Around 15k pre-tax (2014). Quotas was 24 qualified opps a quarter (that AEs approve). I don’t remember exactly but I exceeded quota by ~10 meetings and was in my “kicker”. Was moved to the field the next quarter. Honestly I think a lot of it was luck. I was getting prospects on the phone left and right. I was making around 60 cold calls a day to Director/VP of accounting and operations. It’s amazing how one good week can give you the mojo to crush the quarter. That one quarter is probably the biggest catalyst for my career to date. (Was 24yrs old as a field AE in enterprise software. )

While I was in medical device we hit bonus and our distributorship hit a corporate spiff. Ended up walking away with a 20k check. Just had my daughter a month earlier so it was perfect timing.

For a BDR/sdr that’s a massive commission! Unreal!

Best of luck! But for real you don’t need it. Grind, get a mentor, and practice your pitch. You’ll be bringing home the bacon soon enough!

22k, hoping for a bigger one this quarter! I will say it hurts seeing that w2 knowing how much of that I spent haha. How much have you saved from commission is the real question lmao

When I was a BDR my best was 25K over the course of a quarter.

The secret was trade shows. My company would have a super tight wallet for these things in terms of booth presence, swag, etc... which meant that usually only 1 or 2 BDR's went with 2 AE's and an exec.

Exec and AE's would fuck off the whole time to be "on calls" (actually just drinking starbucks and thumbing thru emails).

At the time my company paid $500 for each meeting with Director+ and $1000 for each lead converted by sales.

Managed to get several dozen Director and VP meetings at the trade shows, documented the notes, put them in SFDC, and created the opps. Did my own followup to schedule meetings for AE's and got them to convert the leads.

So, something like 15K in meetings fees and another 10K in converted opps, all from being willing to hustle down some conversations at lunch, in the beer line, at the bar after hours, outside sessions, just in the hall.

Go crazy at trade shows if you're lucky enough to attend and network with EVERYONE.
