BDR Trainers

Has anyone had a good experience with BDR training companies? I've dealt with one and wasn't impressed. Not sure if there are any out there that are worth the time and money.

We had a company called "Blitz Masters" come in to our office and do a one-day call blitz training. Came with flash cards with rebuttals and whatnot and some pretty interesting value statements.

They aren't cheap by any means, however, the overall satisfaction was decent.

Did they sit in on the cold calls or how did this go?

It was a full day event. We had blocks of training through the day. Then during the actually phone blitzes, the instructor was in the sales room listening in on phone calls to give better direction.

There was also a software used to help guide each caller for the day that was more than likely an additional charge to keep.

Out of the 15 sales people(AEs and BDRs) we scheduled over 30 appointments in about 4.5 hours of calling.

Hey Chucken, how often are the rebuttals applied and information from that class?

Every day. I have incorporated their structure into a lot of the rebuttals I train my team with.

I see, so you essentially wrote a script to be able to help your team excel with their calls? How much of a success rate does your team have?

I don't think BDR training companies are ever going to know your product and the nuances of selling it great, but they're good to spark motivation for young and eager reps.

I can agree with that. They have a structure that may work with your vertical/product. It's just finding one that you can take and run with.

I haven't seen it effetive. You need to internally have good enablers and select managers who know how to train and develop their teams.

I had a good experience with "The Bridger Group" -- some decent techniques, "mindset" coaching...

Late to the party here...companies are hit/miss but individual trainers are great when they do ongoing training...but not many do it because the market is small as few WANT to pay well for BDRs. Most leadership would prefer closing training :(

JBSales is a lot of generic sales but their prospecting stuff works pretty well for any b2b tech.
