BDRs: what are your DAILY input KPIs/metrics?

Curious what other BDRs are required input-wise on a daily basis. This is not including meetings + outputs such as opportunity/pipeline/etc.

Daily, each BDR has to input/hit:

  • 45 calls
  • 25 emails
  • 8 connects (a connect is not someone just answering the phone, it is uncovering a valuable piece of information such as current tech stack, best point of contact to talk to, or organizational pain/priority)

I'm not a BDR but I speak to sales managers and leaders regularly about their expected metrics for their BDR teams.

Some orgs are much more activity-driven and some are much more outcome-driven. Of course, most orgs are a mix of both, but the emphasis can differ a lot.

I've seen many companies ask for 40-80 calls/day or even 100 calls/day. Others ask for 100 activities/day (emails + calls + others). Many managers know emails are much easier to send than a making calls, so some managers don't really count emails toward targets.

Others are a lot looser on exact activity level but tighter on qualified meetings booked and attended - depending on the type of activity, ARR, sales cycle, personas called into, etc, this could be anywhere between 10 to 30.

Hope that helps.ย

At the end of the day...if you are not having conversations....you are not booking meetings. The ultimate goal of the BDR should be to inspire valuable, back n forth, 2 way conversation.ย

For my team....I like to see them have 10 conversation and 1 booked meeting a day.ย

The science says 65 dials/65 emails. But could be more could be lessย

Can "connects" be found using public sourcing information? If not, how is anyone identifying 8 "connects" from 65 activities?ย

no connects have to come from a live person (not a pre-recorded company voicemail/message or linkedin/zoominfo/google etc).ย

A few years back it was 75 dials/day, no set email amount but we were all mail merging lists. Meetings were quarter based but average to 4-5 a week.ย

My company has recently moved from meetings booked as a primary driver to opportunities created (qualified meeting that doesn't get kicked back) and revenue closed off those meetings.

Bigger accountability and focus on quality.

As an AE I like.
