I'd love to see his case study of an organization that was so good at marketing that they never needed sales.ย

Hard to say what 'advice' he gave there @Sahil?

I don't always agree with Naval either, but here he's just making a pretty broad statement, no?

What is 'good' and what is 'sales'?

My understanding: if you are able to cover 'everything' in your marketing message, in such a way that it appeals to the clients, then they will sign themselves up?

They will hand over their credit card details and there will be no interaction with a 'salesperson'.

I guess that that matches with what he says?

Now, I don't think that this is valid for everyone and every product, as in certain situations marketing (alone) will not be able to persuade the client to hand over their credit card.

Then the question should be, again, what doesย 'good' at marketing mean?

Is the ultimate goal of marketing to close the deal without interaction with a salesperson?

A passive income stream is really cool as an individual but a terrifying concept to rely on as a business

if you sell small ticket transactional stuff sure. But try and have "good marketing" to push a 100k+ complex software product to a close. No shot.
