Bedtime, when do you sleep?

When do you usually go to sleep?

Everyone has different reasons why they go to sleep when they do. Let's talk about when and why you go to bed when you do an how it affects your sales career.

I usually go to bed around 10-11 pm. I used to go to bed around 9 pm and wake up at 4:30 am and hit a camp gladiator sesh. Now I have two kids and need the end of day peace after they go down.

I am right there with you. If my team is playing a west coast matchup, I typically am up much later and much more tired the next day

Honestly for me it depends. I fall asleep anywhere from 11p-2a. No matter what, I am out of bed by 6am every day.ย  I have 2 kids under 3y/o so even the sleep at night isn't always consistent.ย

Iโ€™m the same as you. Two kids under 6, my wife and I get to sleep between 10-10:30. I then get up at 5:30 to work out, and sometimes sneak in a 30 minute nap on the weekends. Because of the stress of sales and kids, I typically pass out within 5 minutes of laying down.ย

You should check out some nootropics on my earlier thread in the war room. They help with stress management and cognitive brain function to put you at the next level!ย  https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/do-any-of-you-take-nootropics

Try a blue light filter for your phone or get blue light filter glasses. They are a life saver.

I try my best to lay down by 10pm. I wake up at 5am no matter what, so I try to avoid hating myself all day if I go to bed much after 10.

Yep same here. I fall asleep a lot easier if I turn off the screens about an hour before sleep and read a book instead.ย

@Robotย @funcouponsย if you are iOS users, the Downtime feature has been super useful for that - you set periods of time to block off most appsโ€™ notifications/access and usersโ€™ texts/calls besides the one you specify. I also find it helpful not to wake up to a ton of notifications.ย

I am an android user and I use airplane mode and blue light filter settings on my galaxy phone and turn on night mode on my laptop and it helps my eyes tremendously. The problem comes in when I share my screen during meetings my screen light seems amber tinted and people always comment about it haha.

I hear you @Robotย I usually go to bed when my kid goes down at max 9pm but over the lockdown I've found myself wanting to stay awake for as long as possible just to gain more "Me time" this saw me doing more harm than good with over tiredness the following day lol! Best to stick to 9pm and wake at usual 4-5am and use this time effectively for some "you time" I feel if you are a morning person.

It is hard to organize one's time around sleep. We are creatures of excitement and intimacy so sleep is usually on the lower end of our to-do list. It makes sense that most of us want to sleep but never feel rested. I think it has to do with humanity's advancement in technology and how to occupy our conscious minds.

For me, I just need to get 7-8 hours of sleep, so I determine my bedtime by when I need to wake up in the morning. Usually though, I am snoozing by 10:30-11:00. I love to beat my alarm too, there is nothing like a natural wake up.
